Secure payment is processed by Stripe. After payment, Albany Chess Center will contact the parent to coordinate the player’s availability, all three session times, and the assigned coach.

Immediate Analysis & Personalized Coaching

The coach works directly on what happened over the board.

The game guides the coaching.

The coach identifies what the player needs from the training game and focuses the instruction accordingly, including calculation, decision-making, time management, tournament strategy, notation, recurring mistakes, practical responses, or other areas identified during the session.

If an important analysis or teaching point requires a reasonable amount of additional time beyond the scheduled 90 minutes, the coach may complete that discussion without an additional charge.

  • Limited availability: Sessions are scheduled before the championship based on player and coach availability.
  • At-home sessions: The location must be confirmed by Albany Chess Center and is subject to coach availability.
  • Tournament entry is separate: Families must register their player for the New York State Chess Championship separately.
  • One complete package: All three 90-minute sessions are included and are not sold individually.
